The Department of Otolaryngology is currently recruiting for a Research Specialist II. This Position will work under the supervision of the PI and closely with collaborators, students and other members of the research team. Duties will include animal husbandry, drug dilution and injection, surgery, genotyping, animal colony maintenance, tissue collection, microdissection, sectioning, immunolabeling, hearing and behavioral tests, microscopy, tissue dissociation, FACS, tissue culture, morphometric measurements, data entry, preparing solutions, data analysis and other tasks required to reach our research goals. Successful candidates must also keep complete and precise records including organized electronic files, appropriately labeled slides and specimens and an up-to-date laboratory notebook for bench work. The successful candidate will also assist the PI in onboarding and training new lab members as well as maintaining a well-stocked, organized and inclusive laboratory environment. The ideal candidate can work independently and will be proactive in communicating with lab members and collaborators, carrying out research and finding solutions to problems that arise.
