The RN II Clinical Operations Support reports to the Clinical Director of the Main OR. Under general supervision, the RN II Clinical Operations Support is responsible for providing technical support to the Operating Room Staff. This role is responsible for making real-time decisions regarding equipment used in the perioperative setting by collaborating with members of the perioperative team to determine optimal solutions to issues with minimal impact to the patient, staff, equipment or facilities. This position has oversight for the application and maintenance of surgical equipment and devices to include ordering of supplies. The Clinical Support Specialist serves as a liaison with contractors, vendors, Biomed, SPD, Radiology, facilities personal, physicians and staffing concerns related to routine operations, specialty request, facilities maintenance and clinical trials of equipment. MUSCP-Advanced Practice Provider Fellow (APP - NP/PA) - Department of Neurology Charleston, SC-Downtown
The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks applicants graduating from an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner to be enrolled into a one-year outpatient general neurology APP fellowship within the Department of Neurology which starts October 1st, 2022. This fellowship will prepare the advanced practice provider (APP) for a career in neurology as competent members of the team, developing a diverse differential diagnosis and respective diagnostic and treatment plan based on the patient's presenting symptoms along with evidence-based, cost-effective medical care. The fellowship will provide training for advance competence in common procedures needed for diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions, cultivate leadership and process improvement skills, and improve critical-thinking skills by providing APPs with further education and specialized clinical and professional experience that distinguishes them from non-specialty trained APPs. The didactic curriculum is based upon core competencies in neurology. The APP Fellow will be assigned a primary supervising physician and will report to this physician as well as the APP Fellowship Manager.
MUSCP-Advanced Practice Provider Fellow (APP - NP/PA) Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine Charleston, SC
This one-year APP fellowship that runs October 2022 through September 2023 focusing on clinical experiences as well as a robust didactic curriculum, to provide well-rounded education intended to fully prepare an APP for a full-time position in critical care. Ideal candidates would be a new APP or an APP wishing to change specialties. The APP Fellow will be exposed to a wide array of disease processes in multiple different critical care settings with monthly rotations in the NSICU, CVICU, MSICU, MICU, AICU and STICU as well as elective rotation opportunities. Additionally, the APP Fellow will have the opportunity to learn and complete competencies on various critical care procedures such as central venous catheters and arterial catheters. They will be expected to participate in weekly lectures including grand rounds, as well as complete an end of year project. APP Fellows will be supported throughout the fellowship by APPs in each department as well as APP mentors, physician fellows, and physician leaders. MUSC Charleston continues to build their APP critical care group, which currently assists in covering all adult ICUs in both the Main and ART hospitals. The APP Fellow will be assigned a primary supervising physician and will report to this physician as well as the APP Critical Care Manager.
MUSCP-Advanced Practice Provider (APP - NP/PA) - Department of Otolaryngology Charleston, SC, Charleston, SC-Downtown, North Charleston, SC
The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery that performs outpatient and inpatient history and physician examinations, discharge summaries, and communicates with referring physician and dentist offices regarding patient care and follow up. The APP will assist the attending physicians in clinic by evaluating new and follow-up patients, performing histories and physical exams, ordering of ancillary tests, patient education, phone calls for prescriptions/lab results and coordination of care. He or she will perform as liaison among inpatient and outpatient nurses, nurse coordinators, and physicians, to provide the highest level of patient care. In addition, they will serve as a dedicated health care professional who will review test results and educate patients on their disease process and treatment plan. The APP is expected to become the easily identifiable expert from the service who will return any patient telephone calls and answer their questions in a timely manner.
