Job description:

The Arch Centres provide a trauma-informed, coordinated response to support victim-survivors of sexual violence in Tasmania through the co-location of multiple service providers. Arch Centres include representatives from Laurel House, Sexual Assault Support Service, Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management, Department of Health and DECYP. Within the Arch Centres, Child Safety Officers are responsible for receiving, investigating, and assessing notifications concerning children at risk of sexual violence and abuse. The role works collaboratively with families, Police, specialist services, and other professionals to resolve concerns, ensure the safety of children, and provide immediate therapeutic and protective responses. Child Safety Officers jointly triage matters with partner agencies, identify statutory thresholds, and initiate statutory actions when required. In situations involving significant risk, the role may also participate in legal processes and interventions in the Magistrates Court.
