$88,192 to $98,170 pro-rata, per annum

  • Please note that access to the progression point of Year 5Q salary of $98,170 is subject to successful completion of a Graduate Diploma.

Period of Employment

Permanent, part time, day work, working 45.6 hours per fortnight.

Notwithstanding, the hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Duties

In the role of Senior Physiotherapist, you will engage and demonstrate optimal evidence-based physiotherapy care to THS-South patients in the capacity of home-based restorative care to the 34 funded transition care packages.  You may additionally, as part of your Senior responsibilities, be engaged to work across other services of the Rehabilitation Team as needs require, and as directed by the Rehabilitation Team Leader.  You will engage collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team in this transitional care setting and related units which encompass inpatient and community services.

Within the Tasmanian Health Services Framework and in accordance with Agency Policy and Procedures the Senior Physiotherapist will, within the Rehabilitation team and/or other specified areas of the THS-South (THS-S), perform the duties partly inclusive of:

  • Preparation and management of patient treatment; and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team;
  • Resource and caseload management;
  • Formal and in-formal provision of education and expertise to other team members;
  • Leadership, supervision and professional support for other physiotherapists and allied health assistants;
  • Supervision of Undergraduate Physiotherapy Students;
  • Compliance with documentation and reporting for THS and externally funded programs as required
  • Participation in Team-based and Department-based Service planning and governance

 

Essential Requirements

  • Registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.  The following checks are to be conducted:

1.  Conviction checks in the following areas:

a)  Crimes of Violence

b)  Sex Related Offences

c)  Serious Drug Offences

d)  Crimes involving dishonesty

2.  Identification check

3.  Disciplinary action in previous employment check.

 

Desirable Requirements

  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Post graduate qualifications, or working toward this in the identified clinical area
