Job description:

The Manager - Funding and Commissioning is a senior level management position withing the Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Directorate (the Directorate). The key responsibilities include providing high level strategic and specialist advice and analysis on mental health, alcohol and drug, and suicide prevention strategic policy and funding and commissioning issues. As part of the leadership team the position contributes to creating an optimal team environment.

The role:

  • Provide high level strategic and specialist advice and analysis to the portfolio Ministers, the Secretary, Agency Colleagues and other Stakeholders on mental health, alcohol and drug, and suicide prevention strategic policy and funding and commissioning issues.
  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of operational policies, procedures and protocols for the efficient and effective establishment, management and evaluation of mental health and alcohol and other drug funding program and agreements.
  • Provide specialist, authoritative advice and support to the General Manager and other senior managers of the business unit on a broad range of strategic and operational issues relating to business, information and financial management, including contract management and grant / procurement processes.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and support to Directorate and SMHS staff to increase their ability to manage funding programs and agreements.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $135,408 to $144,527 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

  1. Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of study from a recognised tertiary institution
