
The Team:
The team is located at the Cambridge Production Centre working with a team of cooks and food service officers, preparing and cooking food for Royal Hobart Hospital patients, visitors and clients.
The Role:
In accordance with Hospital policies, guidelines and food safety legislation the occupant prepares and produces meals for all clients and assists with cleaning of the facility and equipment.
- Demonstrated understanding of special dietary requirements including therapeutic diet procedures.
- Practical knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and codes of practice.
- Relevant Trade Qualification*
* Trade Certificate in Commercial Cookery
You will need:
- Thorough knowledge and experience in large-scale food preparation, production and cooking operations, including a demonstrated knowledge and the ability to comply with Food Safety Standards.
- Demonstrated understanding of special dietary requirements including therapeutic diet procedures.
- Effective written and oral communication skills and the demonstrated ability to comply with codes of practice and procedures.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, part time, day worker (not working weekends but working public holidays), working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of up to nine months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
