Job description:

Work with us! An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Residential Property Officer to join the Infrastructure Services team.

The Team:

The Residential Accommodation Services Team forms part of the Commercial Services Unit, Infrastructure Services and property officers work under the broad direction of the Manager - Residential Accommodation to ensure that the Department of Health is able to offer accommodation to eligible on-boarding health service staff in line with its policy. 

The Role:

The Residential Property Officer manages and oversees the provision of all aspects of residential accommodation for staff, contractors, and visitors in the North of Tasmania in line with relevant policies and procedures.  This includes the responsibility for the management of accommodation contracts, coordination of tenancies, furnishing, service connection, maintenance and cleaning.
 
The Residential Property Officer is the single point of contact for all issues in relation to accommodation for the area, including liaison, negotiation, and issue resolution with internal and external stakeholders and tenants. 

You will need:

  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in real estate or property management, together with demonstrated understanding and use of relevant legislation, including the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 and Residential Tenancies Regulations 1997.
  • High-level interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to effectively establish and manage relationships and use judgement and assertiveness with stakeholders including managers, vendors, agency staff and contractors necessary for the appropriate use of consultation and authority in liaison with clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Demonstrated high level of organisational skills including financial management, initiative, prioritisation, capacity, creativity, adaptability and flexibility in developing appropriate solutions and the capacity to deal with pressure, ambiguity, change and ensure work deadlines are met with minimal supervision.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
