Job description:

Assist the Manager - Speech Pathology Services with coordination and management of the Speech Pathology Service in the North West. Support the Manager - Speech Pathology Services in the efficient and effective functioning of a group of speech pathologists working in multidisciplinary teams, providing leadership and direction and ensuring a high standard of service provision. Provide clinical leadership and professional support and ensure best practice standards for speech pathology services are provided in accordance with organisational policies and the professional code of conduct.

What You'll Do

  • Support the management and coordination of speech pathology services across hospital and community settings
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to team members
  • Deliver high-quality assessment and treatment services to adult patients in the inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation & community settings
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care approaches
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development programs
  • Participate in staff recruitment, orientation, and performance management processes

What We're Looking For

  • Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for registration with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Minimum 4 years clinical experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and communities
  • Experience in supervision, training, or mentoring other healthcare professionals
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
  • Understanding of public health service delivery and quality frameworks

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as soon as you can join the team.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

Allowances: 

Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by Speech Pathology Australia

  • Eligible for membership with the Speech Pathology Australia

  • Or where regulatory requirements exist, NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements

  • Full member of Speech Pathology Australia

  • Current Working with Children Registration

  • Relevant post graduate qualifications in health services management

  • Current Driver’s Licence
