Seeking enthusiastic Allied Health Assistants to join our Allied Health team. The Role:
The Allied Health Assistant-Multidisciplinary assists with the daily functioning of Physiotherapy Services and Allied Health across the Southern Region of Tasmania in the provision of effective and efficient client care. They will exercise initiative and independent judgement in undertaking daily tasks, under the direct and/or indirect supervision from physiotherapists and other allied health professionals. This may also include working with multiple disciplines in the areas of Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Social Work and other allied health services.
They will assist therapists and other therapy assistants with preparation for and prescribed treatment of patients, including transportation of patients to and from treatment areas, evaluate patient progress, communicate treatment outcomes to the therapist and document in patient’s medical progress notes.
Exercise initiative and independent judgment in undertaking delegated tasks under supervision including assisting clinicians in the rehabilitation and/or treatment of clients, preparation of equipment for use in treatment and other related tasks.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: General Stream, Operational Health Officer Level 3
$67,193 to $72,126 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Certificate IV in Health Service Assistance (Allied Health Assistance) or equivalent qualification
- Tertiary student of a relevant and approved allied health course of study at a recognised tertiary institution
- Driver’s Licence
