Job description:

The Senior Project Manager aligns projects with policy and strategic priorities, delivering high-quality reports, briefings, and ministerial correspondence within tight deadlines. Building strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders is essential to achieving successful outcomes aligned with objectives.

The Team:

The Project Management Office (PMO) drives impactful change by delivering strategic ICT projects that shape the future of the Department. As a foundation of successful project delivery, the PMO also provides project framework, tools, and expert support services, empowering teams to achieve their goals efficiently and effectively.

The Role:

The Senior Project Manager leads the delivery of complex ICT projects, providing strategic direction and expert advice to drive key system reforms.

The Senior Project Manager aligns projects with policy and strategic priorities, delivering high-quality reports, briefings, and ministerial correspondence within tight deadlines. Building strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders is essential to achieving successful outcomes aligned with objectives.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated specialist knowledge and extensive experience in project management.
  • High level experience in, and proven ability to, manage human, financial and physical resources, together with providing leadership, direction and guidance to a team.
  • High level strategic, conceptual, analytical and creative skills, demonstrating initiative and judgement in identifying issues, providing recommendations and solutions, initiating appropriate action and being flexible and responsive to changing and competing priorities.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and oral communication skills, with the proven ability to negotiate, manage conflict, develop effective partnerships with staff, management, and key stakeholders.

Details of appointment:

*Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for 36 months

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $139,470 to $148,863 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
