Job description:

Come and join the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in this role as part of a service based in Devonport.  You will support the multidisciplinary team undertake an intensive outreach service as part of Youth Mental Health Hospital in the Home (Y-HiTH).  Your role will be to provide office and administrative support to the team.

The Role:

  • Provide the first contact for young people, families and other service providers, relaying information and calls to the members of the team.
  • Provide a specialised clerical service for the CYMHS Devonport office, including updating and maintaining registration details of clients/relatives and updating the computerised record.
  • Work as part of a team, as well as liaise with other external agencies and stakeholders.
  • Provide clerical support to staff involving organising appointments, daily lists, and other duties as required.

The Team:

The Y-HiTH team works with young people and their family/significant others to develop an individual treatment plan that supports their recovery. With multiple home visits occurring everyday and additional support via telephone and telehealth, young people will receive comparable treatment from Y-HiTH as they would from an inpatient admission.

Our aim is to support young people (16 to 24 years old) who may be experiencing an acute episode of mental illness to receive treatment in their home and within the community, rather than being admitted to an inpatient mental health unit, or as part of a discharge plan from hospital.

CYMHS Devonport Office and Y-HiTH:

  • A new service, in a new location, in a new office
  • Provide support to a clinical team that are outreach focussed in service provision
  • The first point of contact for young people and their families

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: General Stream, Band 2

$66,049 to $70,993 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
