Job description:

Exciting opportunity for an Enrolled Nurse to join the Department of Health!

The Team:

This position offers a diverse and rewarding opportunity to contribute to health and community care through collaborative teamwork across four sites. You’ll work within multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong partnerships with the Huon and Kingborough Councils, as well as other key stakeholders, all committed to enhancing primary health care, wellness, and reablement outcomes in partnership with our consumers.

The role provides clinical care and support to the Huon and Kingston Community members, assists Bruny Island Community Nursing as required, and supports consumers, community members, and healthcare professionals attending our facilities or community appointments.

Located across Kingborough and Huon Municipality’s—renowned for National Parks, World Heritage areas, and the picturesque Huon River and D’Entrecasteaux Channel—our Community Health teams work closely with all services in the region. Together, we are dedicated to delivering excellence in healthcare and achieving improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the broader Tasmanian community.

The Role:

As a valued member of a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality health services, the Enrolled Nurse plays a key role in ensuring effective and efficient client care. This position provides day-to-day clinic and community nursing care.

You will need

  1. Sound knowledge of Primary Health Care principles and nursing care procedures and practices in the community setting.
  2. Demonstrated ability to practice in a manner that respects the right of individuals and groups.
  3. Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated clinical assessment, problem solving and organisational skills.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working 40 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $73,109 to $80,524 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse
  • Working with Vulnerable People Registration

  • Current Driver’s Licence
