Join an evolving recruitment team to provide high‑quality, end‑to‑end recruitment support, working closely with hiring managers and stakeholders to deliver efficient and effective recruitment outcomes across the Department of Health.

The Team

Recruitment Services is implementing a new statewide operating model and structure designed to strengthen recruitment capability, improve consistency, and support a more modern end‑to‑end service across the Department of Health. We’re building a stronger, more specialised team to support consistent end‑to‑end recruitment across the Department, and we’re recruiting to multiple roles as part of this implementation.

The Role

As a Recruitment Officer, you will support the end-to-end recruitment process by:

  • Engaging with stakeholders with a client and customer focus, providing timely and friendly support.
  • Coordinating recruitment administration activities from advertising through to appointment.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records within e-Recruitment and HR systems.
  • Monitoring recruitment workflows and assisting the team to meet service delivery timeframes.
  • Responding to recruitment enquiries and providing advice through the People and Culture Portal.
  • Preparing and distributing recruitment and selection documentation.
  • Drafting applicant communications and ensuring candidates receive timely updates.
  • Publishing job advertisements across approved recruitment platforms.
  • Processing establishment changes and minor position amendments.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance recruitment processes and services.
  • Providing general administrative support to the Recruitment team as required.

You will need

  • Knowledge of, and/or experience within a human resources or recruitment operational environment and in the use of human resource management systems, applicant tracking systems, technical tools or databases particularly in the areas of recruitment or demonstrated capability to develop such knowledge within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in the application of recruitment practices, procedures and legislation or a demonstrated capability to develop such knowledge within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain operational procedures and provide information to, and liaise with, clients, stakeholders and members of the public.

Details of appointment

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$76,849 to $82,996 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with the Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award (HAHSA) and the Public Sector Union Wages Agreement (PSUWA).
