
The Team
Cardiac Physiologists at the Royal Hobart Hospital enjoy a collaborative working environment within a supportive multi-disciplinary team. As well as cardiac device management and electrophysiology, members of the Cardiac Physiologist team specialise in adult and paediatric echocardiography and there is opportunity to work within more than one of these disciplines.
Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit within the RHH is the tertiary referral centre for all cardiothoracic surgery in Tasmania.
The Role
You will work with our Cardiac Physiology team and the Cardiologists to help deliver a high-quality, efficient and effective cardiac rhythm management service. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will apply a high degree of professional judgement in the management of patients in accordance with relevant standards and evidence-based practice. We operate an after-hours on-call service.
You will need
- Extensive experience as a Cardiac Physiologist in the field of electrophysiology and/or cardiac implantable electronic devices management.
- High-level knowledge and understanding of cardiac rhythm interpretation with the ability to provide technical support in the development of the cardiac rhythm management service.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a high-level of autonomy and demonstrated organisational and time management skills.

Details of appointment
Permanent full time, day worker (with on call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$117,272 to $126,182 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

- Please note that access to salaries beyond $123,487 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of study at a recognised tertiary institution, and registered with the relevant Board or, in the case of unregulated professions, eligible for membership of the relevant professional association
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Postgraduate qualifications in Cardiac Device Management and/or Cardiac Electrophysiology: IBHRE/EHRA certified Cardiac Device and/or EP Specialist (Allied Professional) or equivalent
- At least 3 years post-graduate experience
