Job description:

Provide strategic and scientific leadership in plant biosecurity policy development and programs across government and in state-wide responses to exotic plant pest and disease incursions and to manage the Plant Biosecurity and Diagnostics Branch in support of the Tasmanian biosecurity system and maximise plant health and biosecurity benefits for Tasmania. This is a high impact role that contributes to transformative changes in Tasmania.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation)

Essential Requirements

  • A degree in agricultural or biological sciences relevant to the professional duties to be undertaken, as provided by a university.

Desirable Requirements

  • A formal qualification in public or private sector management.
  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
