Job description:

As a member of the Government, Insurance and Risk Unit, you will contribute to the effective strategic and operational management of the Tasmanian Risk Management Fund. You will facilitate effective financial management and informed decision making to ensure the long-term financial viability of the Fund, while maintaining a high level of transparency and accountability.

About You

This is a great opportunity to apply and develop your financial analysis and stakeholder engagement abilities to contribute to the effective strategic and operational financial management of the Tasmanian Risk Management Fund.

You will be highly motivated and willing to take initiative. You will have the ability to manage outputs to meet strict deadlines, along with sound judgement and excellent communication and relationship management skills.

Your success in the role requires:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and application of contemporary financial management practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate financial and non-financial information effectively and succinctly with a range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, understand and explain technical issues, identify problems and develop solutions.
  • A high level of attention to detail, including well developed quality assurance practices.

About the Branch

As part of the Budget and Finance Division, the Procurement, Risk and Contract Management Branch:

  • provides advice on and manages the Government’s procurement policy and framework;
  • administers government common use contracts; and
  • proactively minimises the cost of risk to government agencies through the Tasmanian Risk Management Fund.

Hours per fortnight

Up to 73.5 - hours flexible - talk to us about how this could work for you. We are open to considering a range of flexible work options including part time hours.

Desirable Requirements

A relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
