Job description:
The Cyber Security Specialist will be a member of the Cyber Hubs Program Team which is part of the Tasmanian Government Cyber Security Team which is located within DSS.
The Cyber Hubs Program is a whole-of-government initiative aimed at transforming how cyber risk is managed across the Tasmanian Government to support the sustainable delivery of services to Tasmanians.
The Cyber Security Specialist is responsible for providing cyber security guidance and advice to the Program Manager to support the delivery of initiatives . Additionally, they will leverage their extensive cyber expertise to address complex business issues and effectively influence stakeholders.

Duties
- Provide cyber security expertise and assistance for assigned cyber security initiatives including working collaboratively with stakeholders.
- Provide high level stakeholder engagement and support which includes leading and facilitating inter-agency cyber security related consultation.
- Lead and support relevant cross-agency teams, reference groups and working groups.
- Develop and implement high quality government wide cyber security directions, guidance and advice which includes artifacts such as policies, standards, guidelines, procedures and playbooks.
- Develop and implement whole of Tasmanian Government cyber security governance and assurance processes which includes processes to support the reporting of whole of Tasmanian Government cyber security policies and standards for managing cyber security risk.
- The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.
Desirable Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or research experience to a similar level would be an advantage.
- Industry recognised accreditation in or training towards accreditation in the cyber security field would be advantageous.
