Working with education and training providers to provide pathways for prisoners to access accredited training programs.

Period of Appointment
Permanent full time, working 73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties
- Develop and implement (arts and crafts) creative learning and life skills programs for prisoners accommodated within Tasmania Prison Service facilities.
- Assist in identifying and developing positive working relationships with suitable external organisations with an interest in establishing and delivering creative learning and life skills programs within the Tasmania Prison Service.
- Assist in identifying and developing positive working relationships with and mentoring suitable external volunteers with an interest in delivering creative learning and life skills programs with the Tasmania Prison Service.
- Work with Reintegration and Rehabilitation providers to develop and deliver programs and projects that assist in engaging prisoners in learning programs.
- Assist in arranging, facilitating and where required coordinating internal and external (public) displays, exhibitions and shows related to creative learning and life skills programs. Advise and assist with the production of promotional and explanatory electronic and print documentation.
- Provide specialist advice as required to key Prison Service stakeholders regarding individual prisoners’ needs in relation to their involvement in creative learning and life skills programs and mentoring of prisoners identified with high needs.
- Provide advice to the Team Leader in regard to budget requirements and assist in developing appropriate strategies for the purchase, replacement and maintenance of materials and equipment related to creative learning.

Desirable Requirements
- Certificate 4 in Workplace Assessment and Training
- Recognised qualifications and/or experience in any of the creative arts and/or crafts
