Job description:

Contribute to maintaining and improving the Land Information System Tasmania (LIST), including development of systems for data maintenance, and the management and delivery of secure, contemporary and reliable spatial data products and services to its clients.

About the role

As a Senior Spatial Analyst in the Location Services Branch, you will contribute to maintaining and improving the Land Information System Tasmania (LIST).

  • Research, develop and maintain web-based, enterprise, and desktop GIS software.
  • Manage and deliver secure, contemporary and reliable spatial data products and services to clients.
  • Provide specialist technical advice, recommendations and solutions to ensure geospatial infrastructure and systems operate in a highly efficient manner.
  • Review and improve business processes and procedures.
  • Promote and build spatial literacy by providing training, education and support services to the Department’s clients.

The successful candidate of this role can be located in the Hobart or Launceston office.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Desirable requirements

  • A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Spatial Information Services, or a Bachelor of Geospatial Science, relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a university, a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
  • Professional IT knowledge gained through satisfactory completion of a course relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a university, a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
