Job description:

Perform analysis of samples in line with protocols. Complete administrative, maintenance & equipment calibration.

About the role

Analytical Services Tasmania (AST) provides testing services to government, businesses and members of the public.

In this role, the Laboratory Technical Officer will:

  • Prepare and perform analysis of samples.
  • Produce results in accordance with quality control requirements.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain specialised laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain laboratory records including receipt and registration of samples.
  • Complete associated administrative duties.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Desirable requirements

  • A Certificate III or Certificate IV in laboratory operations or an equivalent level, relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
