Job description:
The Senior Analyst – Financial Systems will assist the Specialist Accountant (Financial Systems) with managing and supporting the Department’s Financial Management Information System (FMIS) and related subsidiary financial systems, processes, procedures, reporting and interfaces.
Support and contribute to the provision of specialist advice and technical support on financial systems and associated processes to internal and external stakeholders.

Duties
- Manage, or substantially contribute towards, projects associated with software enhancements, upgrades, module implementations, and provide ongoing support of the FMIS.
- Provide and coordinate specialist consultative advice and support on financial systems and associated business processes to the Specialist Accountant (Financial Systems).
- Analysis and development of any interfaces with the financial systems including ongoing liaison with equivalent business owners and application administrators on the maintenance and management of these interfaces.
- Undertake high level research and analysis into contemporary financial systems issues and emerging trends in the public and private sectors, including identifying areas of improvement, opportunity and need.
- Research, design, develop and modify reports (including other reporting mechanisms such as dashboards) that assist users to meet operational objectives.
- Actively maintain and regularly review the FMIS, associated interfaces, and budgeting, reporting, accounting and financial operational activities to ensure that the Department’s financial systems remain fit for purpose, support operational and management objectives.
- Assist the Specialist Accountant (Financial Systems) in managing the Department’s Chart of Accounts to effectively support financial management strategies and requirements.
- Develop and coordinate user training programs and education on the FMIS.
- Support finance system processes to satisfy Treasury mandatory reporting requirements.

Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge and experience in TechnologyOne Ci or TechnologyOne CiA.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body.
