This position has been created in the Security and Intelligence Unit to accommodate the expanding prisoner population and a greater amount of intelligence reports and investigations being required. The role will be responsible for the management, assessment and dissemination of intelligence reports received, contributing to an intelligence led prison system.

Working Environment
Tasmania Prison Service (TPS) has prison facilities located at Risdon Vale, Hobart and Launceston in Tasmania. This position is based at Risdon Vale. The Risdon Vale site offers a corporate working environment without the hustle and bustle of city centre offices, free on-site parking and access to the on-site staff gym (or head across the road to Risdon Brook Dam for a walk at lunch time).

Duties
- Maintenance of the intelligence management system for the Tasmanian Prison Service.
- Provide targets in the form of profiles, summaries, intelligence reports and assessments as determined by the Intelligence Analyst.
- Identify and report emerging risks to the Intelligence Analyst.
- Liaise with operational areas to obtain intelligence from their activities and task information collection activities.
- Liaise with Prison Service DSU and external law enforcement agencies regarding intelligence and analysis functions.
- Actively participate with the DSU in the conduct of operations; including inmate interview, crime scene preservation and evidence gathering.
- Provide assistance to law enforcement agencies in the provision of evidence and expertise.
