Job description:
Join our Environmental Assessments Branch and play a leading role in shaping how renewable energy projects are assessed and delivered across Tasmania.
About the role
As Senior Environmental Officer (Renewables), you will drive best-practice environmental impact assessment (EIA) for renewable and major projects.
- Lead and deliver EIA processes for renewable and major developments.
- Provide authoritative, risk-based advice on environmental impacts and mitigation.
- Prepare high-quality Environmental Assessment Reports and statutory instruments.
- Contribute to strategic improvements in assessment frameworks and processes.
- Represent the EPA in cross-agency forums, committees, and industry engagement.
Hours per week
36.75 hours (or part time hours, by negotiation).
Period of appointment
24 months.
Desirable requirements
- A degree in Science, Engineering, Environmental Studies or related field, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Detailed understanding of environmental management as related to renewable energy would be considered advantageous.
- A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
