About You

Treasury is seeking a Senior Policy and Project Officer to join the Liquor and Gaming Branch. This role provides policy, regulatory and project support across a diverse range of liquor, gaming and wagering matters, including support for the Tasmanian Liquor and Gaming Commission, policy and legislative initiatives, and major business transformation projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex and high-profile issues that contribute to harm minimisation, effective regulation and positive outcomes for the Tasmanian community.

You will be motivated, proactive and well organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes. You will work collaboratively within a professional and supportive team and build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

You will undertake research and analysis, contribute to policy and regulatory initiatives, prepare high-quality advice and recommendations, and support the delivery of projects and organisational change initiatives. You will apply sound judgement to complex issues and help identify practical and effective solutions.

You will communicate clearly and confidently, tailoring your approach to different audiences and presenting complex information in a concise and accessible manner.

This role would suit someone with strong policy, analytical and project management skills who can interpret legislation and regulatory frameworks, exercise sound judgement and work collaboratively to deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment. Experience in policy development, regulation, project delivery or government decision-making processes would be highly regarded.

We welcome applications from a diverse range of applicants and provide flexible, hybrid working options in most roles. We want our employees to reach their full potential which is why we make reasonable adjustments to our recruitment process to enable applicants with disability, illness and injury to fully participate.
