Job description:

To work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders to provide a mentoring and well-being support service to students residing during school terms at the Student Residence and their families. Contribute to capacity building to improve the transition, attendance, retention and attainment of students in residence.

The Team

Hellyer College

The Hellyer Student Residence exists to support Hellyer College students who choose to relocate from the rural and isolated areas of King Island, Circular Head and the West Coast to complete year 11 and 12.

The Student Residence provides a home away from home for young adults at this important stage of their education. Life at the Student Residence is guided by the College's values of high expectations, relationships, respect, integrity, resilience, learning and creativity.

Newstead College

The Newstead Student Residence is located next door to Newstead College. The Residence provides accommodation for students from the East Coast, Flinders Island, Northeast and Central Tasmania undertaking Year 11 and 12 studies at Newstead College or Launceston College.

About the Role

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

We are looking for:

Essential

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment

Desirable

  • Relevant experience and/or qualifications
  • A current driver’s licence
