Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine validation of Flight Data detected events and analysis of exceedances for the purpose of identifying trends and potential risks to operations.
- Conduct analysis in supporting the review of events reported through the Safety Management System (SMS) and prepare summaries. Facilitate Operational Learning Review, as and when required, to capture and disseminate safety learnings.
- Support the Safety and Operational Risk Management Department (SRM) colleagues in producing regular reports on safety performance and issues identified through the Flight Data Analysis Programme (FDAP).
- Assist in the development of algorithms for studies of aircraft performance, FDAP triggers, operational efficiency, and aircraft maintenance troubleshooting.
- Ensure Flight Data is used and handled according to the policy and procedures outlined in the company’s Safety Management System Manual (SMSM) and Flight Data Analysis Programme Manual (FDAPM).
- Assist in the preparation of FDAP data for the Flight Operations Safety Action Group (FOPSAG).
- Provide subject matter expert advice to General Manager, Safety and Operational Risk Management and other SRM colleagues on matters related to flight safety.
- Conduct safety promotion activities, including the preparation and delivery of SMS-related training to flight crew.
- Undertake safety projects and studies as and when requested by the Manager, Flight Data Analysis Programme (MFDAP).
- Attend the Safety and Operational Risk Management Department (SRM) office a minimum of five days a month.
Qualification and Experience Requirements:
- Must process valid flight crew license and currently employed by the company as a line Captain or First Officer.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in the aviation industry, including two years within Hong Kong Express Airways.
- Prior experience in FDAP and SMS is preferred but not a must.
- Sound knowledge in company Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs), aircraft handling characteristics, airfields and routes.
- Good understanding of Safety Management System (SMS) principles.
- Familiarity with CAD739 and Flight Data related requirements in AN(HK)O and IOSA programme.
