The individual will assist in the development of methods and procedures used by the research team, perform training of test personnel and/or analytical personnel, and ensure the QA/QC policies and procedures are followed. The individual may be responsible for supervising technicians and students that prepare for testing, collect test data, and perform data reduction and/or supervising technicians and students that perform analytical sampling, log analytical data, and analyze such data. Research activities may include developing publications and presentations for national conferences. Some travel may be required. |

This position also creates, edits, revises, tailors, coordinates, and publishes ICET’s web content. |

| The EH&S Specialist for Radiological Safety will administer environmental health and safety programs to provide a safe and healthy environment for our campus community. The EH&S Specialist will serve as the University’s appointed Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) and Laser Safety Officer. Primary duties will be performed in accordance with the MSU Radiation Safety Manual and include the day-to-day administration and coordination of the University’s environmental health and safety programs in a responsive manner that provides the highest level of service to the campus community. The EH&S Specialist will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, nationally recognized standards and university policies and procedures. The EH&S Specialist will also work with the University’s Radiation Safety Committee (RSC), and Executive Management to implement Radiation Safety policies and directives across a wide array of radiological research. The EH&S Specialist reports to the Associate Director of EH&S. |
