The position is for a full-time, non-tenure track teaching professor on a nine-month appointment. The successful candidate will teach up to four course sections per semester, with a maximum of eight course sections over the nine-month period. The primary responsibility entails teaching meteorology courses to online students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science Broadcast and Operational Meteorology Program, as well as the Master of Science Applied Meteorology Program. The appointment is also likely to include some face-to-face teaching for our Starkville Main Campus. The primary teaching needs include courses in operational weather forecasting, satellite & radar meteorology, and severe weather, as well as other coursework aligned with the candidate’s specialization. Summer teaching opportunities for additional compensation may be available depending on enrollment.

These activities include conducting fishery-independent surveys, population assessments, collecting tissues for genomic connectivity, and entering and managing datasets compiled during these activities. The secondary function is to support additional research activities of Habitat Ecology Branch scientists at the Southeast Fisheries Science Center Galveston Laboratory as needed.
