The successful candidate will conduct and analyze numerical sensitivity modeling experiments utilizing the Navy’s coupled tropical cyclone modeling system and other coupled modeling systems to verify against field observations to identify momentum exchange processes that influence tropical cyclone intensity change. The postdoc will be based at the Northern Gulf Institute at Mississippi State’s campus and have access to MSU High Performance Computing Collaboratory supercomputing servers to conduct experiments. Funding is available for 18 months with opportunity for extension. Funds for conference travel are included. Anticipated start date of August 2024 with some flexibility. |

The primary purpose of this position will be to lead the soybean outreach activities for producers and other stakeholders in Mississippi. The overarching goal of this team is to develop training for extension agents and to strengthen the overall Extension program by providing technology transfer and facilitating adoption of best management practices within Mississippi.
