This position is a 100% Extension appointment in the Center for Pollinator Health at the Delta Research and Extension Center, Stoneville, MS. The function of this position is to lead a nationally recognized and locally effective education and outreach program that equips and empowers the agricultural and apicultural sectors to manage pests and row crop production to minimize impacts to honey bees and other pollinators. Performance will be evaluated primarily in terms of contribution to transforming stakeholders’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to agricultural production and conservation as it pertains to pollinator health. The incumbent will work as an integral member of a multidisciplinary research and Extension team focused on pollinator health in the Delta region of Mississippi and beyond.

The primary responsibility for the Agriculture and Natural Resource (ANR) Extension Agent is to provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive education program focused on ANR. Specifically, the Extension Agent will work closely with county citizens, stakeholders and other agencies to provide leadership focused on our natural resources and the agricultural commodities produced in Benton county including Forestry, Livestock, Agronomic Crops, and Commercial Vegetable Production. Secondary responsibilities include support for programming efforts in 4-H Youth Development (4-H) 40%. Community Resource Development (CRD) 10%. The Extension Agent will serve as a member of a statewide team and will collaborate with other agents and the Extension faculty and specialists to establish effective programming priorities and delivery methods.
