The primary responsibility for the Agriculture and Natural Resource (ANR) Extension Agent is to provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive education program focused on ANR. Specifically, the Extension Agent will work closely with county citizens, stakeholders and other agencies to provide leadership focused on our natural resources and the agricultural commodities produced in Benton county including Forestry, Livestock, Agronomic Crops, and Commercial Vegetable Production. Secondary responsibilities include support for programming efforts in 4-H Youth Development (4-H) 40%. Community Resource Development (CRD) 10%. The Extension Agent will serve as a member of a statewide team and will collaborate with other agents and the Extension faculty and specialists to establish effective programming priorities and delivery methods.

The research program at the North Mississippi Research and Extension Center focuses on developing sustainable vegetable management strategies for the Mississippi and Southeast regional industries. This research associate position is 100% funded through the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station. The incumbent is expected to work closely with principal investigators to satisfy the goals and expectations of funded projects. Areas of emphases are nutrient management, disease and pest management, vegetable physiology, greenhouse and growth chamber technologies, sustainable vegetable production systems, and laboratory instrumentation.

The primary responsibility of the Family, Health, and Wellness (FHW) Extension agent will be to provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive education program focused on FHW in Winston and Choctaw counties, which includes early childhood education, family financial management, health, food safety, and nutrition. Knowledge of FHW program areas is required. As part of a statewide team, the FHW Extension agent will collaborate to establish programming priorities and effective delivery methods. Strong oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively as a team member, are essential for success in this role.
