The individual filling this position will function at the professional research level and will collaborate with researchers involved in design and implementation of ASME NQA-1 qualified test systems for nuclear-grade HEPA-filter research. This position will perform engineering research, data analysis, and report preparation. The individual will be expected to evaluate and apply standardized engineering procedures and techniques to research projects. Limited exercise of judgement is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations. The individual will be responsible for the development of methods and procedures used by the research team, training of personnel, and ensuring the QA/QC policies and procedures are followed. The individual may be responsible for supervising technicians and students that prepare for testing, collect test data, and perform data reduction. Research activities include developing publications and presentations for national conferences. Some travel may be required

The Department of Agricultural Science and Plant Protection (www.agscipp.msstate.edu/) at Mississippi State University seeks to fill a tenure-track, assistant professor position in forest health based at the main campus in Starkville. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a multidisciplinary, internationally recognized, and extramurally funded research program using innovative approaches to address basic and applied research topics in forest health that synergize with existing strengths within the departments of Agricultural Science and Plant Protection (https://www.agscipp.msstate.edu/) and Forestry (https://www.forestry.msstate.edu/). The research area of particular interest is an increased molecular understanding of ecological interactions involving arthropods, pathogens, and/or mycorrhizae and corresponding tree health in forests and/or urban settings. Possible areas of study in these interactions include, but are not limited to chemical ecology, biological control, and plant resistance. Collaboration with other researchers and Extension Service colleagues both on and off campus is expected. The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, teaching a foundation course in forest health, as well as advanced courses relevant to their areas of expertise, advising undergraduate students, and serving on graduate student committees. The successful candidate is expected to be an interactive member of the faculty, as well as contribute to relevant scientific/professional societies.
Extension Agent 019206 - MSU Extension- Bolivar County Bolivar County
The primary responsibility of the Family, Health, and Wellness (FHW) Extension agent will be to provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive education program focused on FHW, which includes early childhood education, family financial management, health, food safety, and nutrition. Secondary responsibilities will include a smaller percentage of time working in the areas of Community Resource Development (CRD) and 4-H Youth Development. Knowledge of FHW program areas is required. As part of a statewide team, the FHW Extension agent will collaborate to establish programming priorities and effective delivery methods. Strong oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively as a team member, are essential for success in this role.
