Candidates will report to the Head of the Department of Art and teach courses in support of an emerging Illustration and Entertainment Arts program. The successful candidate, in collaboration with other faculty, will provide a strategic vision to further develop our Illustration and Entertainment Arts curriculum. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in illustration/entertainment arts and the ability to teach in one or more of the following areas: character design, motion, time-based, creature design, concept art, and editorial illustration. As part of a leading public, land-grant, R1 research institution, a successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service. In addition to their teaching duties, the candidate will be expected to maintain an active body of creative research and pursue peer-reviewed/juried competitions, exhibitions, publications, and/or industry engagements at the national level. Service responsibilities include student advising and departmental, college, and university-wide committee appointments. The anticipated start date for this position is Fall 2026.

The Theriogenology Residency at MSU CVM is a 24-month clinical program which will meet the requirements set forth by the American College of Theriogenologists for eligibility to sit for the exam for board certification in Theriogenology. The program is supported by four American College of Theriogenology Diplomates. The residents will focus on providing clinical, hospital-based service while learning through interaction with and guidance from clinical specialists. The program is comparative, and residents will work on a variety of bovine, equine, small ruminant, and canine reproductive cases.

This position is under the administrative supervision of the Assistant Director of Career Exploration. The Coordinator of the Bulldog Mentor Program and Campus Outreach oversees the planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Bulldog Mentor Program, a university-wide initiative that connects students with MSU alumni for personal and professional development. This role also oversees Career Center outreach requests and helps to identify new opportunities for campus engagement to market Career Center services and events. In addition, the Coordinator will supervise and coordinate a team of student Career Ambassadors; who will help to deliver classroom presentations, outreach requests, and peer-to-peer career coaching. This Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing both the Bulldog Mentor Program’s year-long mentorship plan and campus outreach processes and new initiatives. Duties will include tasks in cross-departmental collaboration, project management, marketing and communication, outreach events, and structured assessment. This position serves as an active team member of the MSU Career Center and will support career events and programs to engage students and alumni in mentoring activities. As this position grows, duties and responsibilities may change as programs are added and/or enhanced or as needs dictate.
