| The Corporal is responsible for performing law enforcement duties as directed by the Chief of Police. This position is distinguished from the Police Officer position by the additional responsibilities or duties and additional, acceptable job-related experience required. The Corporal position is established to provide the Department with a well-rounded officer committed to the goals and mission of the Department, and who has demonstrated the ability to work successfully with minimal supervision while providing peer assistance and mentoring. This position is expected to provide consistency and stability within the University Police Department by possessing a working knowledge of the Departmental operating procedures and philosophy, as well as progressive law enforcement techniques. |
