The incumbent will develop an effective entomology Extension and applied research program focused on integrated pest management (IPM) for horticultural food producers in Mississippi and the Midsouth. The position will involve close collaboration with Extension specialists to deliver IPM-related information to commercial producers, small-scale farmers, and homeowners. The successful candidate will be expected to publish research findings, participate in graduate student training, teach in educational programs, and actively engage with professional societies and university/industry committees. Numerous opportunities exist for collaborative Extension and applied research across the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station locations. The academic home will be in the Department of Agricultural Science and Plant Protection. |

It is the responsibility of the person in this position to conduct all the field operations involved in implementation of research protocols on cotton, corn, wheat, and soybeans. These include but are not limited to planting, weed and insect control, fertilization, fungicide spraying, harvesting, and summarization of data. We have guidance systems on our tractors and automatic weighing systems on our combines and cotton pickers which the person in this position will need to learn their operations. |

The ICU technician position provides primary care to all emergency patients and advanced care for critical patients of the Animal Health Center (AHC) along with support for hospitalized patients. Though legally limited to providing patient care except for diagnosing, prescribing, or performing surgery; these vital technicians are responsible for executing the wishes of the veterinary medical doctor team and monitoring patient response. We are specifically looking for candidates with expertise in drinking water and wastewater management (public or private), public health engineering, and watershed science/management.
