Position Summary:

The College & Student Events Manager position focuses on Official College and student events throughout the year. This role serves as the EMS Administrator for the Scheduling & Event Services department, including troubleshooting, scheduling upgrades, trainings, and collaboration with the Registrars for academic scheduling. This position oversees administrative functions of the department including EMS Dashboard approvals and office supply inventory. This position is also responsible for hiring and training of additional summer staff annually.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Student Events – works with CICI, FSL, etc. to provide event oversight and ensure approvals take place prior to scheduling
  • General event inquiries via Dashboard, phone, and email. Designating to other SES staff as necessary
  • Faculty & staff room requests for Official College events
  • Parking requests
  • Website maintenance
  • Banner policy oversight and coordination
  • EMS administrative functions, maintenance, installations, and trainings
    • Assists Registrars with Academic Scheduling integration with EMS
  • On-site support prior to the start of an event
  • Inventory and ordering of office supplies
  • Commencement email oversight
  • Summer Conferences Assistant Manager – hiring & training of summer event staff, coordination of conference groups during the summer
  • Performing related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Three years additional job-related experience required in planning, coordinating, and managing events and meetings
  • Demonstrated experience in a college or university environment preferred, with knowledge of campus departments, procedures, and policies
  • Strong skills in customer service and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Required computer skills with working knowledge of a variety of office machines and computer software including web design, Publisher, Photoshop, and data/software integration
  • Knowledge of Event Management System (EMS) and Social Tables software systems
  • Experience in software administration, including troubleshooting and training is a plus
  • Ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, students, and Rollins community
  • Ability to use tact and good judgment in resolving work problems and dealing with the public, students, and staff
  • Ability to represent the College through events and summer programs
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Maintain, update, and analyze files and records with a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrate ability to embrace and model Rollins’ Service Philosophy and Standards and provide competent, collaborative, responsive, and respectful service to others

Work Environment:

  • Must be available to work overtime, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Position involves bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods
