Position Summary:

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Maintain specialize applications, including upgrades and changes to Campus Card System/Blackboard Transact and Point of Sale (POS) systems with system administrator.
  • Identify, document and troubleshoot application related problems as well as assist users and technical staff with application testing and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure applications follow campus information security policies as well as federal, state, and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of available products to meet campus card (RCard) and POS needs, including evaluating new technologies and recommending application changes.
  • Monitor the performance of the applications, ensuring the service meets end-user requirements.
  • Develop audit procedures to ensure all departments are performing functions to maintain PCI Compliance.
  • Create, maintain and present training materials for end-users for Blackboard Transact and PCI Compliance.
  • Develop/update reports and queries using appropriate reporting tools.
    Research, analyze, and develop advanced reports and spreadsheets for organizational and departmental needs.
  • Daily researching and correcting of nightly reports for errors.
    Configure, test, and deploy solutions to meet functional-area needs across finance department.
  • Determine appropriate methods, techniques, and tools for maintaining information applications.
  • Document process, procedures and workflows associated with specialized applications.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in the design of new and updated services.
  • Manage and maintain the Finance website.
  • Collaboration with end user departments including but not limited to Athletics, Bursar’s office, Campus Safety, Dining Services, Information Technology, International Programs, Residential Life, and others.
  • Cross training with other finance and accounting functions as needed and perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • A College degree and a minimum of four years of work experience is preferred.
  • Experience maintaining hardware and software is essential, as is an understanding of databases and how reports are generated from these databases. 
  • Strong Information Technology background preferred.
  • Possess a strong understanding of hardware and software, especially in the area of Point of Sale devices and payment processing.
  • Understanding of financial accounting principles in budget reconciliation.
  • Strong desire to keep abreast of new technologies and willingness to learn PCI standards.
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to gather and analyze information and develop appropriate recommendations for action.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a professional manner with an emphasis on service quality.
  • Ability to multitask, strong written & verbal communication skills; ability to communicate and coordinate with others on varied and occasionally complex issues in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with faculty and staff who have various levels of technical background and understanding.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, schedule and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail in daily functions and communication in order to effectively develop, compile, and present information.
  • Knowledge of College environment, departments, procedures, and policies.

Work Environment:

  • Office environment, with some interaction with off-campus vendors at their businesses.
  • Overtime may be required as needed.
