Position Summary:

Rollins College is seeking a Associate Coordinator to perform a range of operational and support service functions for the Tutoring & Writing Center (TWC).

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates and performs a range of operational and support service functions for the TWC. The TWC provides peer writing consultation and subject tutoring support services to students.
  • Trains and supports peer content tutors from academic disciplines across the curriculum. 
  • Assists with daily supervision and oversight of entire TWC student workforce. Helps select, train, schedule, and evaluate 35-40 peer content tutors. Assists in teaching credit/no credit TWC courses for tutors.
  • Assists the TWC Coordinator in development of Center policies and procedures.
  • Serves as system administrator for appointment tracking software. Import data from Banner and EAB systems, run and interpret reports, audit system data entry, liaise with technical support to troubleshoot software problems and customize capabilities, maintain database records and files, and other related duties.
  • Develop and maintain databases using Banner and EAB; enter and track data records relating to TWC Center activities; tabulate statistics and design and run reports.
  • Oversee tutor adherence to Center policies regarding the scheduling and honoring of appointments.  Correspond and communicate with students regarding non-adherence issues. Disable and reestablish center privileges as necessary in consultation with academic coordinators and TWC coordinator.
  • Manage hiring process and payroll timekeeping for tutors and consultants using the Office of Student Employees systems.
  • Assist the TWC Coordinator to prepare and edit Center marketing materials.
  • Assist the TWC Coordinator in planning special events.
  • Greet and assist clients and visitors to TPJ Center, respond to inquiries both in person and over the phone, and make appropriate referrals to professional and student staff.
  • Work with TWC Coordinator to maintain bulletin boards and Center photo albums.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the disciplines for which content tutors are hired (such as STEM subjects or languages) is required, a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Requires previous experience in a tutoring and writing center or academic success setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of English, spelling and grammar.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and related software for word processing and database management. Ability to develop and maintain databases, and access and report data utilizing query and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of College environment, departments, procedures, and policies.
  • Knowledge and practice of organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to use tact and good judgment in resolving work problems and dealing with the public, students, and staff.
  • Oral and writing skills sufficient to maintain and update files, logs, reports, and correspondence.
  • Math computational skills sufficient to develop statistics, etc.
  • Overtime or flexible usage of time may be required as needed.
