Position Summary:

Student Records is seeking a full-time, temporary Transfer Student Services Assistant for the Spring 2019 semester. Student Records is responsible for a broad range of activities that includes class scheduling, registration, transcript requests, degree/enrollment verifications, academic record and transcript maintenance, monitoring degree requirements, and awarding degrees.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the lead evaluator of transfer course work in the absence of the Assistant Registrar or in coordination with the Transcript Specialist.
  • Prepare timely transfer credit evaluations for all prospective and admitted transfer students.
  • Enroll admitted transfer students into a full tentative academic schedule according to their major preferences and general education pathway.
  • Enter transfer course credit into Banner 9.
  • Communicate with prospective and admitted transfer students and resolve issues/refer to correct campus resource.
  • Coordinate with academic department chairs on transfer credit pertinent to major requirements (major course equivalencies).
  • Track new major course equivalency approvals and/or create new course equivalencies as needed in CollegeSource TES database.
  • Provide weekly updates to Admission, Residential Life & Explorations staff, and academic deans on enrollment, scheduling, capacity concerns, special cases, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Previous academic transcript evaluation experience preferred.
  • Ellucian/Banner experience preferred.
  • Must be available to commit to the entire temporary assignment: January 2019 - early July 2019. 
  • Ability to work with colleagues across the College and establish and foster relationships that encourage a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, manage competing priorities, coordinate projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to relate to colleagues and the public.
  • Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and able to set priorities and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
