Position Summary

The Director of Educational Services position will provide leadership and direction in the development, implementation, coordination and delivery of a broad range of educational program content for the Office of K-12 Outreach in the College of Education.  

This position will be responsible for coordinating the core educational programs offered through the Office of K-12 Outreach and identify new strategies and initiatives to effectively connect research to practice.

This position will assist in planning and designing Office of K-12 Outreach programs and activities by working with key campus-based project staff, K-12 Outreach field personnel and collaborating with MSU faculty and staff to support high quality professional development programs, including conferences, summer institutes and special events focused on school turnaround, leadership development and capacity building in K-12 schools.   

This position will assist in the preparation of state, federal and foundation grants to support the mission of the Office of K-12 Outreach to connect research with practice in schools and districts across Michigan.

This position will be responsible for coordinating the development of print media communications and social media messaging for the Office of K-12 Outreach, working in collaboration with the College of Education’s Communications Office.

Required Degree

Masters -Education

Minimum Requirements

Specialized training in project management; extensive knowledge of effective teaching and leadership practices; strong facilitation skills; and excellent public speaking and writing skills.

Desired Qualifications

Extensive K-12 school and district level experience; expert knowledge of curriculum and instruction; knowledge and experience involving current K-12 student assessment practices; knowledge of current state and national curriculum requirements; and demonstrated experience working in partnership with a leading research university.
