Position Summary

The MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine Division of Medical Education seeks a Curriculum Projects Specialist to provide coordination and oversight for curriculum quality improvement projects and use of curriculum systems for the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine D.O. curriculum. Projects may include exploring curriculum workflows, coordinating use of curriculum information systems, curriculum mapping and tagging efforts, developing training and support, etc.

Duties and responsibilities include Curriculum Development: Supporting curriculum quality enhancement projects at the course and program levels; Monitoring curriculum data and workflows to promote efficiencies and standardization; Interacting with parties to generate and update curriculum details in related systems; Supporting curriculum mapping and tagging efforts.  Administrative; Serving as a “super user” for curriculum systems to coordinate related processes; Developing and implementing related training, support, and troubleshooting protocols; Interacting with stakeholders to request related support, development, or consultation; Participating in related committees, workgroups, teams, and meetings; Other duties as assigned. Research: Compiling curriculum-related data and reports; Researching best practices related to curriculum workflows.

This position interacts with; Deans/Directors/Chairpersons – in order to receive direction and/or make recommendations. Faculty/Staff – in order to provide consultation, answer questions, and collaborate on projects. Co-workers – in order to discuss concerns, assignments, and collaborate on projects. Vendors – in order to request information or support or discuss products.

Responsibility for the Work of Others; Potential for first-level supervision over student employees.

Required Degree

Masters -Higher Education

Minimum Requirements

Master’s degree. 2+ years of experience in a professional position in the field of higher education. Documented experience with a wide variety of instructional and organizational technologies. Documented support or troubleshooting experience. Demonstrated interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated organizational skills sufficient to handle multiple tasks, manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

Desired Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in a medical school or health professions education environment. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with medical or health professions curriculum management software (e.g., Medtrics, etc.) Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., D2L, etc.) Familiarity with cloud storage/collaboration systems (e.g., MS SharePoint, MS 365, etc.) Familiarity with web conferencing applications (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom, etc.) Familiarity with group permissions management (e.g., Active Directory, etc.) Experience delivering training or group presentations. Ability to problem-solve creative solutions to challenging problems.
