Assistant to MQM Program Director
Position Summary
The executive secretary position will work directly with Center for the Study of Curriculum Policy and Measurement and Quantitative Methods (MQM) Director to assure smooth operations for both the Center and the program. The executive secretary will be responsible for a broad range of administrative tasks for the Director including: assisting the director in responding to emails both internally and externally including with high profile national and international contacts and organizations, handling a deeply active calendar of appointments; composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential; transcribing and editing journal articles for Director, compiling documents for meetings, serving as a liaison between the Director and MQM program coordinator and other departments, and assisting the Director to run the technical aspects during meetings.
The ideal candidate will exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education with course work in word processing, typing, shorthand, and grammar; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in maintaining account ledgers, word processing, editing, composing correspondence, taking dictation, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, and/or presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Familiarity/experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Familiarity/experience with university policies and procedures
Ability to work independently with confidence while taking initiative to be proactive
Sensitivity to and appropriate handling of confidential information
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy, resourcefulness, and efficiency
Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
