Position Summary
The Department of Human Development and Family Studies is currently accepting applications for an Academic Year Fixed Term Assistant Professor for the upcoming 2022-2023 academic school year at Michigan State University. This half time position will include teaching in-person courses that are for undergraduate students in person around personal finance/financial literacy. A PhD is required for this teaching position. Instructional experience with varied course content, size, and format strongly recommended (e.g., the traditional classroom, online, workshops, one-on-one).
Duties: Main responsibility includes teaching HDFS undergraduate courses around personal finance/financial literacy. These include lesson planning and preparation, lecturing, multimedia presentation, grading, meeting with students one-on-one or in small group settings, multimodal communication with students, course assessment, and working closely with the undergraduate director to ensure course quality.

Required Degree
Doctorate -Human Development and Family Studies, Economics, Family Economics, or related field
Minimum Requirements
PhD in Human Development and Family Studies, Economics, Family Economics, or related field at the time of hire; excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience teaching online and in person classes at the undergraduate level.
