Position Summary
The Accountant II manages and supervises accounting and operational activities and prepares financial statements and reports for MSU Health Care.
Characteristic Duties – Responsibilities:
- Researches, prepares and verifies the accuracy of financial statements and reports in order to provide information.
- Develops, implements and oversees accounting controls for MSU Health Care.
- Prepares and reviews general journal accounting entries and reconciles departmental records.
- Assists in developing MSU Health Care financial policies and procedures.
- Follows up on delinquent accounts in order to achieve higher collection rates.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Accounting; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in supervision, accounting procedures and developing accounting controls, policies and procedures; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
