Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

The A-CAPP Center is seeking an experienced individual to work within its education program on its student internship program and its non-credit Professional Certificates in Brand Protection on a temporary basis.

Duties would include contributing to the upcoming relaunch of 18 courses on March 21 through both guided and independent work of:

  • Enter finalized content into the Articulate E-Learning Software. Specifically, the individual will work with A-CAPP staff, subject matter experts, other consultants, stakeholders, etc. to:
    • Perform copy editing services on draft course content & quality testing on content
    • Upload content into the Articulate web-based software (including text, images, worksheets, links and other materials), including following formatting guidelines and making appropriate decisions on how text should be displayed for adult learning purposes
  • Implement items in the marketing plan for the relaunch.
  • Other activities as needed during the post-launch phase.
    • May also include contributing to the project for creation of 17 new courses that will be launched at the end of 2025 that will be similar to the above.

Manage the existing student internship program, including, but not limited to,

    • Overseeing current interns and their associated projects, assignments, and requirements of the program.
    • Overseeing student mentees and external mentors to ensure required activities occur and adhere to program requirements.
    • Recruiting future student interns by attending career fairs on behalf of the Center and/or other events as applicable.
    • Overseeing the completion of the fall 2024/spring 2025 internship program and start of the fall 2025/spring 2026 internship program.

The individual will work a hybrid schedule as the A-CAPP Center office work includes work from the MSU office and work from home Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, with most meetings being virtual. The Center schedule is fairly standard with MSU office work on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the remaining from home.  There may be some flexibility outside of the normal business hours/days and applicants should describe any flexibility needed in their cover letter.

The rate of pay will range from $30-$50 an hour based on experience level.

Desired Qualifications

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years of experience in project management or student programming
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage your own schedule

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Master’s or other advanced degree
  • 1-3 years’ experience (combined-actual or experiential education) in curriculum development, coordinating events and projects, and/or project management, and working with stakeholders in their field
  • Ability to travel to help attend or run programming abroad
  • Self-starter, creative, entrepreneurial spirit; able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and working well in a team
