Applied Music Lesson Instructor

Position Summary

The College of Music is seeking a qualified Instructor of Violin to teach applied violin lessons during the Summer Semester. This temporary, fixed-term position is intended to provide individualized instruction to music majors and minors enrolled in applied violin. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of performance proficiency, strong pedagogical skills, and a commitment to student development in a one-on-one instructional setting.

Required Degree

Masters -Music

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Violin Performance, Music Education, or a closely related field

  • Demonstrated proficiency in violin performance

  • Prior experience teaching individual violin lessons

  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to student learning and development

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in teaching applied violin at the collegiate or advanced pre-college level

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working with diverse student populations

  • A record of performance as a soloist and/or ensemble member is preferred
