Position Summary

  • Greet and assist customers when they arrive in the parking office
    • Variety of questions/information that may need to be referenced
  • Answering incoming calls/chats from the main parking line
    • Variety of information needed to answer all questions
    • Knowledge of Genesys phone system to handle all customer requests, including ability to transfer calls successfully
  • Provide information on parking rules and regulations to students, faculty, staff, contractors, and the public
  • Maintain cash in drawer and balance nightly for accuracy
  • Maintain permit inventory assigned to your cash drawer
  • Sell different parking permits, many different varieties available
    • Have parking knowledge of lot locations, restrictions and when enforced to provide accurate permit options and when vehicles can be parked there
    • Have knowledge of university ordinances
    • Having knowledge of who qualifies for each permit type available and how they can be purchased
  • Ability to process a permit return when eligible
  • Answering Team Dynamix (TDX) ticket inquiries
  • Accept payments for violations
  • Answer questions about why a violation was issued and determine if the violation warrants the ability to be appealed and direct how to do so
  • Assist customers/callers with troubleshooting services when attempting to purchase a permit online, appeal a violation or pay a violation online while on the phone or in the office
  • Process permits that were sold over the phone, per customers preferred delivery method
  • Process online permit sales by preparing envelopes and permits for mailing, when needed.
  • Connecting owners to plates, using SOS and Flex
  • Assist at the visitor center when needed/directed
  • Other miscellaneous office tasks as assigned
  • Verify payments submitted for pay by plate lots using required programs to assist customers with questions or complaints
  • Look up possible impounded bike information using appropriate programs and how to direct customer further
  • Use a department radio to request enforcement assistance per customer request
  • Release towed vehicles, and have knowledge of how to provide accurate information about the tow
    • Reason vehicle was towed
    • What the charges are and how much they are to get it released
    • How to print and accurately complete a tow box report document accurately
  • Troubleshoot possible causes for issues that arise during normal daily activities
  • Communicate with other departments on campus and coworkers as needed
  • Use Teams to look up parking accommodation lists for permit availability and approval
  • Basic knowledge of Teams to look up stored information within the program
  • Basic knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of pay by plate lots
    • Locations of available lots
    • How the pay machines work
    • Knowledge of how to troubleshoot possible issues from customers
  • Ability to multi-task and use different programs all at once
  • Knowledge of how to use ID Access and SIS (student information system) and where to find needed information to assist customers
  • Knowledge of the lifecycle of a violation
    • Late fees, transfers to court, holds placed, etc.
  • Knowledge of who handles what job/tasks within the department to accurately inform or assist customers (all types)
    • To transfer calls to when asked specific questions
    • If asked something that you are unable to answer have knowledge of the best person to provide that information
  • Ability to answer payroll deduction questions including/but not limited to who qualifies, amount each sub-classification will be deducted.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a high school education; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in data entry, balancing cash drawers, word processing, or data base management; or an equivalent combination of education or experience.

Desired Qualifications

Strong verbal communication skills, cashiering experience. Knowing flex software.
