Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.
Unit Position Summary
The Department of Integrative Biology is seeking a temporary employee to work in the laboratory with Dr. Victor de Souza Penha studying geographic and landscape predictors of bird biodiversity in both agricultural and urban ecosystems. Duties will include using ArcGIS to score landscape characteristics (e.g. land-use land-cover) from satellite images and acquiring eBird checklists from the same geographical areas (e.g. farms, cities).
Desired Qualifications
In a degree program in biology, geographical sciences, or a related field. Seeking a certificate (or equivalent) in GIS. Experience using ArcGIS.
