Day/Evening Emergency Receptionist

Position Summary

This position will be in the VMC Emergency clinic working at reception desk where you will greet, register, and direct clients and their animals to the correct waiting area; creates, reviews, and updates electronic client and patient health records; establishes patient appointments in electronic scheduling system; collects payments at the time of patient discharge and accurately documents the payments in an electronic record. This position will be 40 hours per week, however, will be a combination of day, evening and potential overnight shifts. Must be able to work weekends.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; a minimum of one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a medical office, medical clinic, or in a mental health office; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in customer service. 

Desired Qualifications

One year of customer service experience. Excellent communication and computer skills, including proper grammar and spelling; Experience in a fast-paced customer service setting; excellent customer service and proven empathy skills. Demonstrated experience to work both in teams and alone.
