The MSU Broad Art Museum is seeking a temporary on-call Exhibition Graphic Designer to support the upcoming exhibition Mekong Voices: Transnational River Justice in Mainland Southeast Asia.

Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

  • Reports to the Director of Communications, with additional direction from the Senior Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs.
  • Responsible for creating exhibition-specific collateral in alignment with museum design standards, including:
    • Graphic identity
    • Interpretive materials
    • Large-scale graphic elements
  • Temporary on-call position ending October 3, 2025.
  • Schedule averages 10 hours per week; specific workdays to be determined.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the diverse languages spoken in the Mekong River Delta.
  • Cultural awareness of the Mekong region, including its geography and national borders.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign and Illustrator).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, advertising, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail, with effective planning and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey visual concepts clearly.
  • Receptive to constructive feedback and able to implement revisions professionally.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with printers and vendors is preferred.
  • Interest in museums and cultural institutions is a plus.
